A husband-and-wife team
Adam & Katelyn Spinozzi
We live in Manahawkin, ten minutes from the bridge, with a houseful of our own. Between us we have put a lot of small people to bed in unfamiliar rooms, which is more or less the entire qualification for this job.
LBI Crib Co. is the two of us. Not a franchise, not a marketplace listing, and not a side room of a linen company. When you text the number on this site, one of us reads it.
How this started
We started out renting baby gear on Long Beach Island. It taught us the business quickly: how families actually pack, what breaks, and how fast a week goes wrong when a child will not sleep.
What we noticed in our very first season was that one item did almost all of the work. Families rented strollers and high chairs and were pleased. Families rented a proper full-size crib and wrote us paragraphs. One of them put it about as plainly as it can be put: “our toddler was not sleeping well in the packnplay we had… it was a total lifesaver.”
So we narrowed. Everything we do now is cribs: one model, two mattresses, and enough of them that there is actually one free when you call in July. Same family, same van, same cribs, now with a calendar that tells you the truth in real time.
Who does what
Adam does most of the driving, carrying and setting up. Katelyn runs the bookings and the messages, which is why several reviews mention how fast a text gets answered. That is one person with a phone, not a call center.
We come on your check-in day. Saturday here is changeover day and the crib heading to you is often one we are collecting from another family that same morning, so we genuinely cannot get in ahead of you. What we can do is come when it suits you, carry it in and set it up wherever you want it, or leave it covered by the door if you would rather do that bit yourselves. At the end of the week we come back and collect it.
Why one crib, and why this one
Running identical cribs is the only honest way to do this. If a crib is damaged on a Friday in July we swap it for the same crib, rather than calling you about a substitution. Setup is muscle memory instead of improvisation. Cleaning is one checklist rather than a generic wipe-down. And we carry real spare parts, because there is only one parts list to carry.
It also means the number on our availability calendar is a real number. If it says a crib is free for your week, one is sitting in our garage with your name going on it.
What we will not do
- Rent a crib we would not put our own child in. Anything that fails inspection comes out of service rather than going out once more.
- Send anything damp. Cribs turn around inside a changeover day because we always have a laundered set standing by, not because we cut a drying cycle short.
- Take a mattress we have not measured. Fit is a safety issue and it is the one thing we are rigid about.
- Double book. The software makes it structurally impossible, not merely unlikely, because every crib is tracked as an individual unit.
Where to find us
We are delivery-only, based in Manahawkin. There is no shop to visit. The van is the shop, and from June to September it is usually somewhere between Barnegat Light and Holgate.
