LBI Crib Co.

Long-term rental

A crib for as long as you need it

Not everyone who needs a crib is on vacation. A placement arrives with two hours' notice. A contract runs thirteen weeks. The renovation overruns, the grandchildren visit six times a year, or the house you are going back to is still being dried out.

For all of those, buying a crib means guessing at a length of stay nobody can tell you, and then owning the guess. We rent by the month instead: no deposit, no fixed term, and we come and take it away when you are done.

Who this is for

Six situations we see over and over

Every one of these is a household that needs a compliant crib at short notice, for a length of time nobody can name yet.

01

Foster and kinship caregivers

A placement call comes at four in the afternoon and the child arrives that evening. Nobody knows yet whether this is three weeks or three years.

You cannot buy a crib in the two hours you have, and if you could, you would be guessing at a length of stay nobody can tell you. A monthly rental with no fixed term matches the actual shape of the situation: keep it as long as you need it, tell us when you don't.

What we do: We prioritize placement calls and will do our best to be there the same day. Our cribs meet current CPSC full-size crib standards, which is what a licensing inspection asks about, and we will put that in writing for your file. No deposit, no minimum term, no questions about circumstances.

02

Grandparents and regular visits

The grandchildren come for two weeks in July, a week at Thanksgiving, and whenever their parents need a break. The rest of the year the spare room is a spare room.

A crib you use five weeks a year costs the same as one you use constantly, and it occupies a bedroom for the other forty-seven. Renting it for the months you actually need it, and having us take it away again, is cheaper and gets your room back.

What we do: We keep your details on file, so booking the next visit is a text rather than a form. If you have the same weeks each year, tell us and we will hold them.

03

Travel nurses and seasonal staff

A thirteen-week contract at Southern Ocean, a furnished rental in Manahawkin, and a baby. The furnishing stops at the sofa.

Nothing about a contract posting justifies buying nursery furniture you then have to move or sell. Three months on a monthly rate works out at roughly the price of a two-week vacation rental.

What we do: Contract-length rentals billed monthly, delivered to mainland addresses at no extra charge, and collected on your last week without you arranging anything.

04

Families out of their home

A burst pipe, a fire, a flood, or a renovation that has run three months long. You are in temporary housing with what you could carry.

Insurance temporary accommodation rarely includes a crib, replacing furniture you already own is money you will not get back, and you do not know when you are going home.

What we do: Fast delivery to temporary addresses, and an itemized invoice suitable for an insurance claim. Most policies cover replacement of essential items during displacement, and a monthly rental invoice is exactly what an adjuster wants to see.

05

Between homes

The sale closed, the new build did not, and you are in a rental for four months with your furniture in storage.

The crib is in the storage unit behind everything else. Renting one for the gap is cheaper than the afternoon it would take to dig it out, and it is not sitting in a damp container in the meantime.

What we do: Month-to-month with no end date needed. Tell us a week ahead when you are ready and we collect.

06

Second-home owners

The house is yours, you are here most weekends from May to September, and the family visits with the baby half a dozen times a season.

A crib bought for a shore house sits in a humid closet nine months of the year and comes out smelling of it. A seasonal rental is the same crib, cleaned, without the storage problem or the depreciation.

What we do: Season-long rentals at the monthly rate, delivered in May and collected after Labor Day. We store it, we clean it, and it is not your problem in February.

What it costs

The longer you keep it, the less it costs

A three-month rental is still one delivery and one pickup for us. Pricing it as twelve discounted weeks would charge you for work we are not doing.
