Rental agreement

This is what you are agreeing to when you book. We have written it to be read rather than skimmed past. It is short, and there is nothing in it designed to catch you out.
What you're renting
You are renting equipment from LBI Crib Co., a trade name of LBI Crib Company LLC, for the dates shown on your booking confirmation. Title stays with us; you have possession and responsibility for the equipment from delivery until we collect it.
Delivery and collection
We deliver on your check-in day, within the window you chose. Because Long Beach Island changes over on the same day, we cannot set up before you arrive. The equipment coming to you is often collected from another family that morning. You choose at booking whether we set the crib up inside (someone needs to be present) or leave it covered by the door for you to put up, which takes about five minutes. If you are delayed and we cannot reach you, we will leave it in a safe covered spot per your instructions. Repeat failed access may incur a second-trip charge.
Your responsibilities
Use the equipment as intended and follow the safe-sleep guidance we provide at setup. Do not modify, repair, take apart or move the equipment to another property. Keep it indoors. Do not add mattresses, pads, bumpers, pillows or other bedding beyond what we supply.
Damage and loss
Normal wear, meaning scuffs, sand and the occasional diaper incident, is on us and always will be. We do not take a damage deposit. Equipment that is lost, stolen, or damaged beyond repair through misuse will be charged at replacement cost, and we will talk to you first rather than charging a card on file.
If something breaks
Stop using it and call or text us immediately. We will bring a replacement, usually the same day. Because we run a single crib model, a swap is a straight swap.
Changes and cancellations
Cancel more than 7 days before delivery at no charge. Inside 7 days, 50% of the rental is due, because the equipment was held off our calendar for that period. Date changes are free whenever we can accommodate them. Named storms, evacuation orders and family emergencies are handled case by case, in your favor. Refunds are issued by LBI Crib Company LLC back to the card used at booking.
Payment
Payment is taken in full when you book. That is what secures the equipment and the delivery window, both of which are held against your dates from that moment.
Assumption of risk
Infant equipment is used under adult supervision. We inspect, clean and correctly set up everything we deliver, and we check the placement of the crib in the room before we leave. Supervision of the child, and adherence to safe-sleep practice, remain the responsibility of the parent or caregiver.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by New Jersey law, LBI Crib Company LLC's liability arising from a rental is limited to the amount paid for that rental. Nothing in this agreement limits liability for gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
Governing law
This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, and any dispute will be brought in the courts of Ocean County, New Jersey.
